Subject: Java Slow on the Client?
Date: 2004-06-07 15:04:24
From: bsletten

Ok, so maybe the complaint is that Java *CAN* be slow on the client, but just because it is Java doesn't mean it *HAS* to be slow on the client. Look at IDEA, new versions of JBuilder, Eclipse, Poseidon, etc. There are a lot of great apps written in Java using both Swing and SWT that perform well.

For better or worse, performance probably hasn't been the Haystack team's priority so far.
