Some bad points regarding committe type approach is highlighted, but remember with a committee, there is perhaps a bit more democratic accountability (supposedly). This is a gross generalization, for of course W3C wasn't elected as such, but as a committee, they are likely to consider more things, e.g. accessibility (regarding web technology) etc etc. Lets hope the good of both individual type innovation and committee based inclusiveness can win through...
