Edd, Great thoughts about the need to innovate. OASIS is working on several groundbreaking components. I definately feel that the Content Assembly work is having an impact shaping the future of XML processing. Drawing from the RELAX NG and Schematron work (Yes - James Clark *did* present to Microsoft on RELAX NG) - the theme is declarative and simple mechanisms.
