For those of us who didn't spend enough time with SGML, remind us of the SGML decl and the doctype declaration you used please Rick? You ask is it worth it? I think so. Perhaps as a way of getting author content into XML without the pointy brackets? [typo? mentions pmap just above the premap shortref? I can't see it]
