 The White Heat of Marketing
Subject: antipattern #1
Date: 2001-08-17 03:27:39
From: jim fuller

the current standards need to leverage and harmonise with each other, instead of adding more and more seperate specs.

in addition, u are spot on re web services, letting marketing define user requirements is fine ( to a certain extent ), but letting them design software architecture is AntiPattern #1.

but just as lawyers send volumes of information to 'baffle' the courts, large corps(sun, m$, and company) try to flood the individual with too much information; in the quest to be seen as the high moral road with respect to development and architecture.

there needs to be a active response to the web services effort, from the developer community instead of what is occuring now.

cheers, jim fuller
