Just some minor comments.
1. Current GML Spec is v3.01. - actually the 3.0.1 schemas have been released - but not the 3.01. document.
2. GML Version 3.1 is about to be adopted in the OGC.
3. GML is en route to becoming an ISO Spec (it is an ISO CD) - ISO 19136 - could be a DIS by December 2004.
4. Galdos Systems (the original creators of GML) will have a book out soon - called "Geography Markup Language - Foundation for the Geo-Web". This due out in April 2004 - published by John Wiley and Sons. (http://www.wileyeurope.com/WileyCDA/WileyTitle/productCd-0470871539.html)
5. There is a GML Conference held in Vancouver - called GML Days 2004 - July 25-29th - with courses in GML and OGC Web Services, SVG, XQuery etc.
