I find it unbelievably unfortunate that the tools available are so miserable that we have to resort to this kind of hackery. Not surprising, mind you, just unfortunate. I understand and appreciate the security issues driving the Apache folks to do this, but it only reinforces my conviction that Web server configuration and application deployment are holding back the Web's potential, big time. Let's fix it.
