 The Social Life of XML
Subject: I am one of those "publishing-technology geeks"

My company makes a living (and a pretty good one at that) on the documentation side of XML. I think people forget how much data is tagged in SGML (and can easily be converted to XML) by the US Government/Military. Millions of pages of technical documentation are quietly waiting to make the short leap from SGML to XML. We make our living on making SGML into sleeker, more useable XML, and then publishing to multiple formats while providing context-sensitive searching of the XML documents.

When MAML and Longhorn arrive our clients will be ready. Oh, and by the way, seamless integration with web services is also a great selling point. I couldn't agree with Mr. Udell's assessment of bringing both worlds closer together.
