Nice! But I think you're missing one very important advantage of putting the "method in the URI"; that the client doesn't have to know what that method means in order to get the data. In fact, you could remove the method entirely, e.g. http://ws.microsoft.com/mscomservice/version Or even http://ws.microsoft.com/j098jf8fja98fjawe98rj
