Article:
XML Transactions for Web Services, Part 1
Subject: Atomic Transactions
Date: 2003-04-20 17:13:12
From: Joseph Chiusano

Nicely written article (although the figures did not show on the screen). One minor point: The article describes an Atomic Transaction as simply "like a database transaction". I don't believe that is an entirely accurate way to describe AT's according to the GXA specs - instead, an Atomic Transaction is "used to coordinate activities having a short duration and executed within limited trust domains. They are called atomic transactions because they have an "all or nothing" property.". Certainly there are database parallels here with the "all or nothing" property, but I feel that the article did not make this definition clear.

Kind Regards,
