 An XML Hero Reconsiders?
Subject: Bray's right in part

Only makes a stronger case for building all XML-based apps on RDF where the rdf:id attribute is less annoying than its xml:ID counterpart that requires a DTD blessing. Also, if XML goes the way of Java with too many extensions, it will at some point become just as unmanageable. Probably not the right forum to discuss the merits of Java, but the only improvement required of version 1.x was overhaul of the AWT. V1.4.1 is all over the place and I fear that XML is headed there unless RDF is perfected once and for all and the XML community standardizes on it.
